The last chance to get together before the Christmas weekend and some fun and laughter before, during and after the game.
Winners of the team game were Cherry, Ruth and Jenny plus 2 spot prizes to Sarah S for a par on the 6th and Ruth for best score of the day on the 4th taking 5 shots.

We all wore our own 'Santa hats' and finished with some fine mulled wine and mince pies in the Terrace Room.

Sunday 11th Dec, Mixed Fun Competition
The last mixed Fun Competition of the year and a shame that the weather was not as kind as the day before. I was last to play with partners Desley, Steve H and Andy P and we hadnt finished the first when the rain started. It was onward and upward with an objective to finish the 18 holes before the light when.

After some strong coffee at the halfway house it was full steam ahead for the back 9. By the 16th, the light was fading fast but we decided to weather the storm and finish.
A couple of birdies by Desley and and some great shots by Steve and Andy didnt quite see us in the top 3 but a very well deserved win by hubby Brian, John, Mike and Margaret
Let me tell you about my shot on the 18th.......
An ok T shot from me, anywhere over the water onto the middle of the fairway gives me a chance to get my 2nd shot up to the water then over for 3 (hopefully). Alas, my 2nd shot went into the ditch on the left, followed by 2 duff chips which meant I'd taken 4 shots and ended up under the trees on the left hand side facing the club house. I had well and truly had enough and was about to pick up my ball. As I walked up to it I thought I havent really got the right club for this shot. With the light now virtually non existent, I hit half swing shot which disappeared from sight.
To my amazement it hit bounced on the fairway once, then straight into the pin. Just asked Steve H and Andy Peach's Dad...........
This is a flying saucer story...........heard by many but seen by very few.
Sat 10th December All Prize Day
A stableford competition over 9 holes for the Ladies today, a bright crisp winters afternoon with virtually no wind.
Everyone brings a wrapped gift, the winner gets to choose the first gift, runner up and third chooses the next gift then cards are drawn at random for players to choose a gift.
A very simple idea but a lovely run up towards Christmas
Thanks to playing partners Wendy, Elaine and Jenny
| DOLLY MIX - Glen, Chris and Helen |
We were all in the festive spirit by the time we came in and tucked into coffee and mince pies in the terrace room.
As with all gatherings of this type, there are a few ladies who ensure that the occasion does not finish without the obligatory simple rendition of a Chrismas Carol.
Todays turn was without the highlight of our year, these three could give any group a run for their money and certainly have the X Factor.......
You've heard of LITTLE MIX, (shame there's no recording), we proudly present DOLLY MIX
